Guilt

I'm feeling it......

I have made the decision and it's unthinkable.

I could try and change my mind....then the feeling of guilt wouldn't lay so heavy on me, but I just can't do it.

It started out with a simple excuse...I couldn't find my blender....but then I found my blender and the reality sunk in.

I just don't have the energy to do it....so I'm not.

So instead of this

my baby is getting this....

I can SO RELATE!!!

I did make a lot of food for Jarrod, but by the end of his baby food days, he was getting jars 98% of the time. It's just so EASY. :)

hahahaha! Great lead in. You're a great mom, and baby food in a jar will give him the nutrients he needs. Use the extra time to catch a few extra winks. :0)

It's a hard decision, I remember, too. We gave Charis Earth's Best, and then, after we moved, found out from my Mom's group that Bekah could just eat off our plate (mostly) with teeny, smushed pieces of the healthy parts of what we were having. We used Earth's Best for outings' convenience. Turns out, she tries everything, and Charis is suspicious of everything. Go figure. Anyway, I empathize!

If it makes you feel any better I hadn't even considered making baby food (once Brendan is on solids)! Now I have to research - I don't even know how to make baby food.

Ha! I went through the same dilemma with Sydney. I finally looked at the ingredients on the bottle (carrots and water, peas and water) and realized it was not doing her any harm and it made me a better mom all around not to let go of the stress of making it. The convenience of grabbing a jar on the way out to the door was such a relief. Hope you're not reveling in your grief for too long!

People make their own baby food? Next you're going to tell me that you can get milk from a boob...:)

Seriously, though, both of my children ate baby food from a jar. I feel no guilt! Amelia was even formula fed- the horror! Sadie was exclusively breastfed and was the one with the chronic exczema, allergies and ear infections, so go figure!

I always tell people that a sane mommy is a happier mommy, so you have to do what's easiest for you!

Well, all of ours had food from a jar, part of the time, but mostly just finger foods and smushed up food from our plates. Do they still make the Happy Baby Food Grinders (little hand-held device that you just use at the table & can even take with you to restaurants)? We used that a lot & it was very easy. Studies seem to show that breastfeeding is slightly better for babies,'tho plenty of formula-fed babies have been perfectly healthy as far as I can tell. To me breast feeding was just way more convenient and cost effective. No bottles to prepare and then worry if they were the right temperature or if they'd stay fresh. No stuff to lug around in an already overloaded diaper bag. No $$$$ to spend. I didn't mind stretching that time out one bit!

Be Free Free Free! Homemade baby food is not the end all. You have two other children so give yourself a break and bust out the jarred baby food. I posted a while back about how I made a bunch of wonderful homemade baby food only to find out that Gianna did not like my food at all. All that matters is that your baby feels loved.

:-) Thanks Everyone. You are all very encouraging.

I mostly feel bad cuz I made food for Miah and Riley. Wes is ALREADY getting the third child syndrome. haha.
Oh well...Julie I think you are right...as long as he feels loved :-)
